Advanced Classical

Students will learn through the Suzuki method, continuing to fine tune their bow technique, shifting and other concepts. We have pianists that will accompany the student in their pieces to prepare for recitals at the end of the semesters. Preparations for Region and All-State orchestra are recommended for students to understand how to audition and provides motivation in their learning.

Blues, Jazz, and Fiddle

Intermediate students and up who have a Classical background can learn other styles such as Blues, Jazz, and good ‘ole country Fiddle with Mike. Method books such as ‘Getting Into Blues Violin’, the Mark O’Connor method are great books Mike uses for lessons in these styles. CD’s are given as ‘Backing Tracks’ for the students to practice with.
